Here it comes

So I’m finally back! I’d like to thank everyone for still writing comments despite my lack of posts. Final exams for summer school, Don Training (to be a Residential Advisor this year), Frosh Week, and the first month of the academic year has definitely made me run out of breath!

But now that some things have begun to settle down, I can’t wait to start posting again! Even though I haven’t posted in a while, I’ve still written down a few things I wanted to write about, so stay tuned for that.

Also, being back on campus has completely raised my awareness on certain issues (I’m finding myself getting into social activism!), so I’m also thinking of tying those things in with advertising in future posts.

Once again, thanks for all the comments! New posts are on the way!

So in the meantime, here’s a new video from Dove. It’s not quite like the Evolution campaign, but it’s still worth checking out:

Wow, it’s been a while …

Sorry everyone for my lack of posts. The courses I’m taking this summer seemed to have taken over my life! Yes, I’m still alive and yes, I am still invested in this blog. I was hoping that I would have posted my first spec ads by now, but unfortunately, I’ll have to post-pone that a bit longer. But I will be making more of an effort to blog a bit more (now that I have an idea of the course load I’ll be having for the next few months), so stay tuned!

Is she nuts?

Call me crazy. Neurotic. Obsessed. Daring. Too ambitious. All of the above, or none.

The idea of My Own Ad School is simple. I can’t afford to study in well-known institutions such as VCU, Creative Circus, Miami Ad School, nor can I even guarantee myself an acceptance. And I can’t stand waiting another year to finish my undergrad career to start my own career in advertising. I’m too intrigued, fascinated and obsessed to take a break from all this ad business. So what’s a girl to do?

Besides reading copious amounts of ad-related blogs, constantly on IHAI (a must visit site!), I really needed a creative outlet for my learning experience. What better way to do this than to start my own blog? And best of all, it could be a great way for me to receive feedback and/or criticism on my posts.

If any of you have ideas on “exercises” or “lesson plans” you’d like me to take a crack at, just send me an email: bianca@myownadschool.com
